Work With The Best.

Himmah Prep is built on the foundation of himmah (Arabic: همة) – ambition, resolve, and determination – the inner drive that distinguishes exceptional students.

We believe in building students for more than just college admission; we build them for leadership, for impact, and for the challenges that matter. Our unique three-pillar approach focuses on Academic Excellence, Character Building, and Future Readiness, providing comprehensive preparation that goes beyond traditional college counseling.

We Know the Omani Student Profile.

Most Omani students come to us in 10th grade with a strong IB or American curriculum academic record, a genuine interest in engineering or the sciences, and a list of activities they believe are competitive.

The hard truth we tell every family: being a strong student in Omani is not the same as being a competitive applicant to Harvard, MIT, or Stanford. The bar is different — and understanding that gap early is what separates students who get in from those who don't.

Here's what we see consistently with Omani applicants:

The academics are often there. A strong IB score or American curriculum GPA is a solid foundation. But the profile around it — the activities, the narrative, the test scores — is usually where the work needs to happen.

Most Omani students we meet are scoring in the 1200s on the SAT. Our target for a competitive top 20 application is 1500+. That gap is closeable, but it requires a structured, personalized prep plan starting no later than 10th grade, focused specifically on the sections where Omani students most commonly lose points: English grammar and advanced mathematics.

All-in-One College Prep Program

Himmah is the only college preparation program that offers college advising, test prep, and summer support, in ONE ALL-INCLUSIVE PACKAGE. Get what you need, leave what you don’t.

  • Guided by our full Ivy League staff, Himmah Prep students are offered relevant strategy for college applications, and skills to maximize their chances. From which classes to take to writing the most compelling essays, we guide you every step of the way.

  • All Himmah Prep students are given a diagnostic test, and we develop a plan based on their performance, aiming to improve scores to the 90th+ percentile.

SAT/ACT/IELTS/TOEFL → all pathways are customized on a student-by-student basis.

  • Led by industry experts, students participate in workshops led by expert facilitators, focusing on themes such as Leadership Self-Discovery, Communication & Influence, Team Building, Conflict Resolution, Decision-Making, and Public Speaking. These interactive sessions aim to develop principled future leaders who are ready to make a meaningful impact.

  • Often the biggest “hook” college applicants have is their involvement in a capstone project or summer program. We guide students through the discovery process and/or application process for competitive summer programs.

What Actually Gets Omani Students Into Top US Universities

The families we work with are surprised when we tell them that grades and test scores — while important — are not what makes a Omani applicant memorable to an admissions officer at Harvard or Princeton.

What makes Omani students stand out is depth, initiative, and impact.

The students we've helped gain admission to elite US universities weren't just strong academically. They built real startups with real revenue. They founded non-profits that created measurable change in their communities. They conducted independent research alongside university professors. They competed — and placed — in internationally recognized competitions like ISEF, AMC, AIME, IBO, USACO, and IPhO.

These are not activities you build in 12th grade. They are built over years, with intention, starting in 9th or 10th grade. That is why we start working with Omani families early — because the profile that gets a student into MIT cannot be assembled in six months.

The Mistake Most Omani Families Make

We speak to hundreds of Omani families every year. The most common pattern we see is what we call the "all or nothing" approach — apply to Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, and if it doesn't work out, stay home or consider a local university.

This is a high-risk strategy that leaves students with few or no options.

The reality of elite US admissions is that even the strongest applicants in the world are rejected from their top choices. Harvard's acceptance rate is under 4%. Princeton's is under 4%. Even a perfect application has no guaranteed outcome at schools like these.

The families whose children consistently succeed are the ones who build a balanced list — ambitious reaches, strong matches, and reliable safeties — and apply strategically using Early Decision where it gives them the best advantage.

At Himmah Prep we build your college list with the same rigor we bring to building your profile. Every school on your list is there for a reason. Nothing is left to chance.

Standardized Testing for Omani Students

Most Omani students we work with are on one of two curricula — IB or American. Both prepare students well academically, but neither fully prepares students for the specific demands of the SAT.

Our approach:

We begin with a full diagnostic test to establish a baseline. From there we build a personalized prep plan — typically across 3 attempts spanning 10th and 11th grade — focused on the two areas where Omani students most consistently lose points: English grammar and Algebra 2 level mathematics.

Our target for a competitive top 20 application is 1500 or above. We have helped students move from 1200 to 1500+ through structured, one-on-one preparation.

For students whose schooling has been entirely in English, TOEFL and IELTS exemptions are commonly available at most US universities. We advise every family on the exact exemption policies of their target schools.

What Omani Families Ask Us Most

  • Yes. Many of our Omani families are considering both US and UK options — including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, and UCL. We support applications to both systems simultaneously, helping students build a profile that works across both admissions processes.

  • 10th grade is our ideal entry point for Omani students. This gives us enough time to address testing, build meaningful activities, explore summer programs, and develop a coherent application narrative before 12th grade deadlines.

  • Yes. We work extensively with IB and American curriculum students from Oman and understand exactly how Omani transcripts, grading systems, and school profiles are interpreted by US admissions officers.

  • Entirely online. All sessions are conducted virtually, which means Omani families receive the same quality of advising as our students anywhere in the world — on a schedule that works across time zones.

Ready to Build a Strategy That Actually Works?

Himmah Prep works with a limited number of Omani families each year. We are selective by design — because the quality of our advising depends on the depth of attention we give every student.

If your child is in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade and you are serious about a top US university, the time to start is now.
